ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLANS AND APPROVALS
Many projects require an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) be developed covering key environmental aspects, impacts and proposed management actions to minimise impacts. Our clients also often require assistance with environmental approvals documentation to be lodged with regulators.
An Environmental Management Plan (EMP) will provide answers to the following important questions:
What are the likely environmental issues for your site?
What likely harm these issues can cause to the surrounding environment?
How will you manage these issues to minimise harm to the environment?
An Environmental Management Plan (EMP) is a site-specific plan developed to ensure that all necessary measures are identified and implemented in order to protect the environment and comply with environmental legislation for environmental approvals. Typically an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) will include the following items:
- Summary of aspects, impacts and proposed management;
- Project description including:
- brief background of the project;
- reasons for implementation;
- objectives;
- key project activities and
- key characteristics;
- Existing environment including existing environment within the project area;
- Environmental aspects including all potential environmental aspects;
- Potential environmental impacts: the potential environmental impacts in terms of project description, existing environment and environmental aspects;
- Environmental management plan which outlines management actions to minimise environmental impacts;
- Recommendations for further studies or referrals; and
- The environmental approvals documentation for submission to regulators for Porgrammes of Works (POWs).
Dinglebird Environmental conducts comprehensive Environmental Management Plans (EMP) in accordance with Department of Environment and Conservation, Swan River Trust, Department of Health, Department of Mines and Petroleum, and Western Australia Planning Commission guidelines. Dinglebird Environmental considers the client’s proposed development or site end use while developing Environmental Management Plans (EMP).
