ASBESTOS REGISTERS AND MANAGEMENT

Dinglebird Environmental Pty Ltd provides services to local government authorities (LGS), facilities managers and property owners to monitor and manage potentially harmful asbestos containing material (ACM) in commercial indoor environments including offices, shops, trains, railway stations, warehouses and factories.

The management and use of asbestos containing material (ACM) in workplaces in Western Australia is regulated under the Code of Practice for the Management and Control of Asbestos in Workplace NOHSC: 2018 (2005). Once asbestos containing material (ACM) have been identified within the facility, the code stipulates a process of risk assessment and control regimes including:

Asbestos survey to identify the presence, condition and potential for disturbance of asbestos containing material (ACM)
Register maintained on-site including a risk assessment of identified asbestos containing material (ACM)
Asbestos management plan.

Regulations require information and training be provided to workers, contractors and others who may come into contact with asbestos containing material (ACM) in a workplace, either directly or indirectly.
All workers and contractors on premises where asbestos containing material (ACM) are present or presumed to be present, and all other persons who may be exposed to asbestos containing material (ACM) as a result of being on the premises, must be provided with full information on the occupational health and safety consequences of exposure to asbestos and appropriate control measures.
